Celebrating my hubby & I with a Scraps Of Darkness layout

Good morning!
My hubby and I have been married for over 17 years and he still gives me butterflies....
At a recent family wedding the photographer took this photo...I loved it and when I saw the gorgeous Blue Fern Studios papers in the Scraps Of Darkness 'Our Story' kit I knew that it was perfect for this photo.

I chose my papers, then using my ink applicator and the Prima Chocolate Color Philosophy Stackable Magnetic Ink Pad to gradually darken the outside edges then trimmed and distressed the edges, matted the photo, and added the fabulous ribbon from the main kit.

I created a cluster with the flowers from the floral add on and some from previous kits and a Prima resin heart I altered that I bought from the Scraps Of darkness Store

I love this heart....
I started by misting it with Tim Holtz red distress spray from a previous kit, then I used the Tim Holtz Festive Berries Distress Marker on the raised edges.  I used the Lindy's Stamp Gang Milk Chocolate Magical Shimmer Powder with a tiny bit of water, then added the Blue Fern Studios Charred Bricks Glitter from the elements add on.  I used the title piece from one of the trims from the Blue Fern Studios paper.

I misted and inked some doilies and added more flowers and one of those sweet hearts from the main kit

I bought this gorgeous Blue Fern Studios chipboard corner piece from the store and misted it, inked it and added the glitter.

I also stamped a bit with the
Ruby Rock-It Bella! Champagne Bubbles Clear Stamp from the main kit.

here is a list of products I used from the kit, add ons and previous kits

More from the Botanique kit!

Good morning!
My computer is acting a bit wonky and I think it has to go to the shop for a few days so I wanted to show a couple more of my layouts that I created using the Scraps of Darkness 'Botanique' kit.

The colors of these gorgeous Graphic 45 papers are so vibrant!  I wanted to create a fun and vibrant layout!

I used the chipboard pieces from the elements add on and the flowers from the  main kit and floral add on to create a cluster

I love Cody's cheeky grin here....

I decided to create another fun and vibrant layout....

I had this title piece in my stash forever...I have no idea where I got it but I really thought it fit the fun and happy mood of my layout.  I covered it with the Nuvo Lemon Sorbet Embellishment Mousse from the color add on, then painted with the Kaisercraft Olive Kaiser Mist also from the color add, as well as other mist, and glitter from previous kits.  I added some Blue Fern flowers from previous kits and some from this kit.

There is some blue fern chipboard in the kit which I embossed with the Blue Fern Studios Chili Embossing Powder.

Mixed Media and Graphic 45.....

Good morning!
Every week my mom comes over and we scrapbook, this week I wanted to created a mixed media layout using the awesome Graphic 45 paper I got in my Scraps Of Darkness Botanique kit!

When I opened the kit, I fell in love with this background paper!

First I used the adhesive rub ons and the foil, then I did some paper layering strips, I added some stenciling using texture paste.

I used some of the Blue Fern Studios Chili Embossing Powder from the color add on and heat set it.  My next step I used the Brusho Crystal Colour in lime green, turquoise, and burnt sienna all available at the Scraps Of Darkness Store here

I tucked in the chipboard that I covered in the embossing powder.

I also altered some white flowers & leaves from previous kits with the the Brusho powders and tucked in one of the metal gears from the kit.  I also added some crushed glitter glad from previous kits and the Nuvo drops also from the kit

This months challenge over at Graphic 45 is to use one of your favorite quotes.....this is one of mine.  I used a Dymo and then inked the strips so they were not so white.

Multi photo design!

Good morning!
I host a challenge every month at the Scraps Of Darkness facebook community.  This month the challenge is to use multi photos.  I created an example using some older photos of Ty....

I used lots of the awesome Graphic 45 papers and tags here....

I fussy cut a lot of images and layered them for dimension and visual interest

One of the things I love about the Graphic 45 papers is the layering possibilities....

I fussy cut some of the cards from the papers and used them in my layering
