August ScrapThat! Reveal

Hello and Welcome to our August Kit Reveal and Blog Hop !
If you lose your way, here is the order:
We are so blessed to have the sweet and uber-talented,
Lisa Gregory
as our Guest DT for August!

Hi, My name is Lisa and by profession I am a registered nurse. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have 2 children who are now successful young adults.  I have been a crafter my whole life. Back in 2005, when my son was doing his senior project with his girlfriend (who is now his wife) They were creating a scrapbook of their lives. They elicited my help as I was the crafty one. I found Scrapbook.com and saw the kind of scrap booking the artists did. I was amazed at the styles. It just wasn't cut and paste and stickers. It was 3 dimensional, it was gorgeous, and oh so inspiring. So I created a gallery, created my first layout and the rest is history. My style has changed a bit throughout the years, but playing with and scissors is still so therapeutic for me. I am honored and excited to be Guest Designing for Scrap That for the month of August.

Stop by Lisa's Blog
to see her gorgeous work.

We are also excited to introduce a new addition to our DT-

Flourish With A Bling and SOUS!

Hi everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying the summer and staying cool!  It is really hot here this week!
This week I was lucky enough to combine my FWAB project and my SOUS project!  Gotta love it when that happens!

Here is my layout

I used the Luke Flourish in bronze!  It was perfect for the colors I was working with!
and I also used the Adhesive Pearls 100 Pack Antique Gold
to highlight the flourish!

here are some of the details

Here is the awesome sketch!
When you visit the other ladies on the dt you will see how versatile the sketch really is!

Second FWAB project!

I am loving the Flourish with A Bling products!  they are so well made.....and the colors are awesome!

So this is the second project I made for my new DT!!! (I am still super excited to be amongst these incredible ladies)

I used the Jasmine Laser Flourish Gold that I cut so I had more (can not have too many of these) and added some of the Adhesive Pearls 100 Pack Teal
around a few of the curves to add a bit more emphasis!

I also had fun with the title!
I used the sun from the Up in the Sky from the outdoor range to create my title!  I simply added the words and used the sun to create visual interest and have some fun!

and lastly I added some more of the Adhesive Pearls 100 Pack Teal to the upper corner to finish off the visual triangle!

Thanks for stopping by!

Altering a few items in the July ScrapThat! kit!

Hi everyone!  I loved this months kit, but it just wouldn't be me if I didn't alter some things just a bit!

I wanted to make the felt a little less vibrant so I used a technique I do quite often.

you will need a zip tight baggie
mist
and your felt

spray some mist in the bag....
add your felt

squish it around until you have used up all the mist
you may wish to add more mist to make the felt darker

lay your felt out to dry!

I did the same technique using a green mist with the tulle!

To alter the flowers just a bit I used a makeup sponge and my brown ink pad and inked the edges of the flower to give it a more distressed look!

Then I took the green smooch and added a bit more drama to the edges!

voila!

I also sprayed the leaves with a bit of gold mist!

and using a piece of paper I sprayed the end of the butterflies wings

I didn't want the pearls quite so white for the layout I was working on so...
I used the smooch on them.
I didn't want them dark either, so before the smooch was dry I rubbed a bit off using a paper towel

and this is what I got!

and here is the finished layout!
